How to Analyse Any Handwriting

A gentle five-minute routine you can use on any sample.

What you will learn
  • Ask for the right sample first
  • Do a whole-page scan before any close reading
  • Save interpretation for the end

Ask for at least five to ten lines of relaxed writing on unruled paper, plus a signature. Anything less and you are guessing.

Look at the whole page from a small distance first. Notice the overall shape, spacing and darkness before you look at any letter.

Only then move in close. And keep interpretation for the very end, after you have named what you actually see.
